Tanner Konrady is the owner and president of Konrady Construction, leading the company with a hands-on, detail-driven approach to custom home building.
Raised in a family rooted in construction, Tanner brings a deep respect for craftsmanship into every project. He works closely with each client and their design team from planning through completion, ensuring every decision supports both the design and the way the home will be lived in.
The result is a portfolio of homes that balance thoughtful design with strong construction, creating spaces that feel refined, functional, and built to last.
Growing up, construction was always around me, but it wasn’t where I initially saw myself. Over time, as I had the opportunity to be hands-on and learn the trades, my perspective changed. I developed a genuine appreciation for the craft of home building and the discipline it requires.
As I gained field experience, I also gained a deep respect for the tradespeople doing the physical work every day, as well as for the management side of the process — coordinating crews, clients, and trusted partners to keep everything moving in the right direction. Just as important, I came to value the relationships that are built along the way. Those long-term relationships with clients and within our network are what ultimately make this work meaningful.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that construction is, at its core, a service industry. While we’re producing high-quality homes, our responsibility extends beyond the physical product. We’re here to serve our clients, our trade partners, and our internal team with clarity, consistency, and respect.
That mindset shapes how we lead projects and people. We focus on communication, follow-through, and accountability, knowing that trust is built through the day-to-day details. Our goal is to build relationships that last well beyond construction — continuing to care for the home over time and maintaining connections that grow into long-term partnerships and friendships, not just one-off projects.
A successful custom home experience certainly results in an exceptional home, but just as important is how the process feels along the way. From a homeowner’s perspective, the experience should be defined by clear, consistent communication and a strong understanding of scope at every stage of the project.
We believe in maintaining multiple, meaningful touchpoints to keep clients informed, engaged, and excited as their home takes shape. By treating the build team, partners, and homeowners as true collaborators, the process becomes more transparent and rewarding. In the end, our goal is for clients to not only love their home, but to feel proud of the experience and the relationships built throughout the process.
Most homeowners underestimate the sheer number of decisions involved in a custom home project. While it’s impossible to anticipate and list every detail upfront, those decisions have real implications on schedule, cost, and overall quality.
Our role is to bring structure and clarity to that process. We work closely with the full project team — architects, designers, trade partners, and suppliers — to align decision-making with the construction schedule. By clearly outlining timelines and expectations early, we help clients avoid rushed choices, reduce stress, and prevent the small delays that can add up over the course of a project.
Building homes that stand the test of time means resisting shortcuts and trends that may look good today but don’t age well. It means focusing on fundamentals — sound assemblies, proper sequencing, durable materials, and thoughtful design decisions.
A home should feel just as right ten or twenty years from now as it does on move-in day. That longevity comes from discipline, experience, and a willingness to do things the right way even when no one is watching. It also means standing behind the home after construction is complete. By offering a dedicated maintenance team and long-term care program, we help ensure each home continues to perform, age, and present itself the way it was intended — giving clients confidence well beyond the build itself.
When you live and work in the same community, your reputation matters — not just today, but long term. You see your clients at the grocery store, your kids go to school together, and your work becomes part of the fabric of the area.
That creates a real sense of responsibility. We approach every project knowing it reflects not just on our company, but on our name and the community we’re proud to be part of. Building well, treating people fairly, and giving back where we can aren’t initiatives or talking points — they’re simply part of doing business the right way.
